MyBroadband is writing an article on the decision to withdraw the SABC Bill.

Among the biggest issues that you cited for his decision was that the bill did not address the urgency with which the SABC's funding model needs to be corrected/modernised. 

However, there was no detail regarding the plan for an alternative that could do so. 

In light of this, we hoped to get feedback from the ministry on the following: 
- What are the ministry's alternative proposals for a sustainable funding model for the SABC, which the Bill would not assist in developing timeously?- What are the timelines for tabling and potentially approving this model? - What is the ministry's response to recent comments from the communications portfolio committee chair that the withdrawal of the bill would be the "death knell" for the broadcaster?
- Any additional feedback is welcome.
