Dear Minister
It feels like we are being punished for choice of our spouses. It is with sadness how the department of home affairs has caused so much strife, pain and suffering to me as a citizen due to severe delays in issuing my wife a permanent residence which has been pending for more than 4 years. We have 3 children that are affected as she cannot contribute anymore to the household as both her permanent resident and temporary resident renewal application have been stuck for years. I am a government employee and it is taking a toll on us financially. I am watching as my spouse is going through depression contacting the department with no luck of progress. I too have been contacting the Home Affairs with no luck. We cannot own home due to this and imagine a basic human right as non residents must have 50% upfront. Tell me why should we suffer for than 4 years???
