Dear Sir

The current possible Military Veterans need urgent help. I have been trying to get help for them, but nobody is comming back to me.
The problem:
For the past +-5 years I have been trying to help the potential military Veterans obtaining their persol details from the SANDF system. Most of these people have no clue how to go about doing it and do not have any access to computers or emails.
This is how it worked until yesterday 12 November 2024 when I received an email that has made me approached you for help as from now on nobody will know how to get registered.
1. I request the Military Veteran to whatts app his ID to me. I would then forward the photo to the Archives for the persol details on the Military computer system.
2. Normally I would follow up every 3 months if I have not received the computer printouts.
3. Once I receive the printouts I will give the person the documents with the application to complete and apply to become registered on the Military Database system.
4. This worked very will as although the Achieves were at times terrible slow but we understood that they received a lot of requests from all over the country.
5. Once the people competed with all the documents and added all the certified copies of ID's and other documents, they would send it to me and I submitted it to Military Veterans Database to be added onto the system.
6. Once they receive confirmation they are registered on the system I will help them with the next step, applying for medical aid and pension funds. This is a another long and stretched out process. Nothing has been happening for months although we keep on following up about the progress.
7. I also gave the 3 x whatt's app numbers to the members to send enquiries after 3 months to find out how far the application are. Nobody even get any response back and they are still waiting.

8. So why are they giving numbers but they do not come back to the people?

On Tuesday I received and email from the Archives and now the system has changed and it is going to fall apart. Now people must firs get a MV number before we can apply for the documents from the Achieves. Most of the people that I am helping live far from all the cities and do not have the means to travel and go and stand for days in a queue and waiting for this. Most of these people are old and out of work. Only live from hand to month.

Somebody is just changing the rules and moving the goalposts as they want and when they want. the Military Veterans fund is there to help the old soldiers, but the system and all the other problems are not helping the people on the ground, they are complicating the process more and more every day. I wonder if it there idee to frighten the people away of applying for the benefits that is due to them for what they have done for our beautiful country.

I do have a few suggestions to make to help the system work more effectively and help the members to apply with confidence that the system is there to help them.

1. Member will full in the documents to become a member of the Military Veteran Database with the certified copies of ID's and other documents, but then submit it to the Military Database by email or courier.
2. The Military ?Database has a link with the Persol System where each member's details will be registered on. Thus, no documents have to be requested from the Archives.
3. The system has a built-in system to send a message with all the relative numbers that members need once they are registered on the system. This will help both the members and the workers a lot as both of them will have less problems at the end of the day.
4. The programmers should be able to write a link without a problem.

Please we need urgent help wiht what is going on.
