Hi - please could you review the booking system for Home Affairs. Today I went to the Durban Umgeni DHA at 5:30 to renew my passport and ID card but was sent home as we didn't have a booking. After paying online and submitting all the forms they would not help us even though the email from Home Affairs states no booking needed. We were told to go home and log onto the site at midnight to make a booking. The booking site never works (which is why we went without a booking) and everyone in-line said they had paid someone to make their bookings. A man approached us before any home affairs officials arrived and said we weren't going to get in and to phone him when we were rejected. I'm pretty sure all the time slots are being bought and sold to people making it impossible for the general public to get a time slot without paying extra for a time slot. The system is so confusing because every location works differently. There has to be a way to make it universal.
