I am an inmate at Losperfontein Correctional Centre in Brits. I wish to report the operation of this facility that does not meet or operate as per the right imposed by the Correctional Services Act, Act 111 of 1998. I have documented proof of non-compliance. I have followed all the process that are require by me to address my issues but it has now been a year and the same problems still exists, including two complaints to the ICCV (Independent Correctional Centre Visitor). They have taken reports but provided no feedback, investigations or resolutions to my complaints. I have been told by the Head of the correctional Centre I must go to court to get my problems resolved. I am in the process of writing a motion but have to do this on my own as I cannot afford legal fees. I have request legal aid but the facility is not assisting me with this. I would appreciate your assistance in getting full audit enquiry set up on the running of this facility, as it is currently being run like a mafia organised crime family with no accountability or regard for the Rights of Inmates.
