I have been COJ overbiling since 1999-till to date.I have been making debt arrangements and when they are paid off I will experience cut off which will lead to arrangement.
1999 Electricity was cut off arrangement made
2007 Electricity meters removed they forced to connect illegal, matter reported to Gauteng Legislature
2009 prepaid electricity meters installed till now
Overbiling started with water
2012 first water cut off as was charged R4000 -R6000 monthly, matter reported to 702 water restored
2013 water cut off they said we owe R44000 while we were paying. We were 4 months without water. Matter reported to Sowetan, arrangements made water restored. Arrangements paid up 2017
2019 another water cut off R13398 demanded, paid up
2020 another cut off R20898 little water left up to now
We battling but they still charge monthly consumption
When they cut off reading was 5387 at the moment is 5410
We reported the matter to Cogta 2021, then they contacted COJ Ombudsman who contacted me last week trying to find out if the case was about electricity and water, I told the guy it's about water as their officials came and accused us of illegal water connection where they left little water.
Please help this matter is really frustrating as we are paying R2000 monthly.
