It is reported that on 9 September 2021 you raised questions regarding LHDA Compensation Policy. Part of the reply that you were given was to effect that LHDA has the Compensation Policy regularly monitored by an independent panel of experts. I was a member of the panel in 2021 (in fact been a panel member for 25 years). The panel was not asked to monitor the Compensation Policy in 2021. In fact LHDA has rarely sought the review of the panel over the last few years, and the assertion 'regularly monitored' is a misrepresentation.
A public apology by LHDA is warranted. LHDA should avoid implying that the panel of experts supports it when LHDA rarely refers to the panel, and still more rarely adopts the the advice given by the panel. Under the circumstances a panel of experts is a waste and the money might better be spent paying compensation to project-affected households.
