Dear Honourable Minister Dr. Schreiber,

RE: LATE BIRTH REGISTRATION FOR SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENSHIP: MICHAEL JAMES BRANCHETT

1. I confirm that I have appointed Immigration Law Firm, Eisenberg & Associates in Cape Town to act as my South African Citizenship attorneys and to assist and represent me in my application to the Department of Home Affairs (“DHA”) towards the determination of my South African citizenship.

2. On 16 January 2023, I submitted my application. On 11 December 2023, I received an outcome to my determination application confirming that I “may claim South African citizenship through my parents”. On 31 January 2024, I submitted my application at the Cape Town Regional Office of the DHA, the outcome of which remains pending.

3. Once my birth has been registered, I will have official confirmation that I am a South African citizen and will accordingly apply for my South African Identity document.

As my application has remained pending for more than a year, I should be most grateful for your help and assistance in expediting this matter. Thank you Honourable Minister.

Yours sincerely,

Michael James Branchett
