Hope u can assist with regards to the following .
Overtime worked by SAPS members for which they are not compensated . SSSBC agreement states that must be compensated or then on agreement by members can be exchanged for time off . Currently the practice in SAPS is that members dont have a choice . I know of members that have up to a hundred rest days which the cant take because of human resource restraints .
If they refuse to work overtime they are being intimidated .
I think this is a gross .violation of the labour agreements .
I think this also contributed largely to low morale in SAPS
Domestic issues are also impacted by work and no reward .
This I write as an ex SAPS member and commander after several of my colleagues contacted me for advice . I referred them to their unions , with no reaction
Dont know if u can assist in any way to bring light to this situation .
