I am writing to you to express my deep concern regarding the current state and future of the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

It has come to my attention that this world-renowned sanctuary is currently facing severe neglect, tragic loss of its unique plant collections (including irreplaceable Protea and Erica species), and critical mismanagement. To allow such a masterpiece of global heritage to wither away due to neglect, lack of proper funding, and bureaucratic failure would be an unforgivable tragedy.
Kirstenbosch is not just a local asset; it is a pride of South Africa that draws people from all over the globe and showcases the country's incredible natural wealth.
I urge you to take immediate and decisive action to look into the management of SANBI, restore adequate funding, and support the passionate experts and staff who have dedicated their lives to this garden. Please do not let history remember your tenure as the one during which this paradise was ruined. Be the leader who steps in to save it!
