I just want to report the matter of rental for life in government's flats administered by JOSHCO.
I have been renting for 10 years and I am of the view that, the government is making business and profit out of us as tax payers. The projects were built using private sector/international donors as well as the institutional grants. according to the information on institutional grants, the company that get the grant must allow the tenants to own after 4 to 5 years of paying rent and staying in the same unit. Joshco is telling us that the project is rental stock. Is our government in competition with the private property sector? or do we need to report the matter to the government portfolio committees to intervene or must we just forget and allow us to be exploited because what the government spent on my unit, they acquired it in the 3 to 4 years of our stay. This is a serious matter and need your attention. I hope and pray that you will attend to this before 2019.
