I write to you to express concern with the current funding houses in KZN. An example from personal experience is the NEF. In my experience we have applied for manufacturing funding for a factory to produce items for domestic and foreign markets. We have been rejected twice, the first occasion was understandable but the second occasion was riddled with faults by the NEF team. It seems franchise, tourism and petrol stations are the priority of such enterprises. Whilst those are important it doesnt create sustainable and developing business activities in a larger scale.

We can only keep trying with applications to the NEF but at this stage it is not their interest to expand our industiral sector. A low risk appetite will only create marginal growth and job creation.
