So I got a sms on the 20 march 2025 to come and collect by 16 year old daughter's ID in Polokwane (where i live). I immediately went on the system to make a booking for collection. There was no time slots available anytime from the 20 March 2025. The fact is it would not allow me to pick any date in the future. (System broken). I then went to home affairs in Polokwane on Friday 28 March the afternoon to see if my daughter and i could go and collect her ID. When I got there they told us we had to make an appointment. The more I told them that the system did not allow me to chose a date the more they told me to try at 4h00 am or 24h00 at night. (System does not work).I then told them that my daughter does not come home during the week as she is in the hostel at her school in Pretoria. (Only comes home some weekends).I also told them that I cannot book in advance as I do not know when my daughter will be coming home to Polokwane as she plays hockey for the school. Even school holidays she is not at home. I tried to explain to them, but they would not help me. They even told me to change the collection to Pretoria. When I asked them how does a 16year girl get there they weren't worried about it. I was even prepared to stand in the queue but they said the queue is too long. So how do I go about this now? If this system and the queue don't work ,how is my daughter going to get her ID. Please Leon can you help?
