I am writing to you out of frustration and desperation.

My life partner Diana Tye had her PR certificate issued 7 years ago and we applied for her ZA ID 2 years ago.

Her reference number is 00060282353, we have been through the process of being interviewed to confirm we re still in a relationship, which was also submitted at the same time. We have followed up regularly with the Bellville home affairs office where it was submitted but each and every time we called ( every 2 weeks ) we are told that it is in Pretoria being processed and conform they have it.

Note**
We initially applied in Swellendam December 2022 before the 5 year period lapsed unfortunately it was stopped by the department of non compliance and we had to resubmit after doing an interview to prove we are still in a relationship.

Recently she was stopped by law enforcement and given a R1,500.00 fine for not having an international driving document with her after enquiring further about it at the traffic department, I was told if she is in the process of applying for an ID they are not allowed to issue the document to her! When I question it and asked what is she meant to do then I just got a shoulder shrug.......

We have now had to go to the expense of engaging a lawyer to enforce the Mandamus process as we have been told several times that it is there but has not been processed yet. I do find it absolutely absurd that we need to force someone with legal action to do what they are employed and paid a salary to do in the first place.

I would appreciate any assistance your offices are able to give us as initially we waited 9 years for her PR application to be processed and we do not want it to go through that again.
