I am writing to you, to let you know about the state of affairs of your Home Affairs office in Wynberg, Johannesburg.

We had stood in the queue for 3 hours, only for officials to come out and tell us if our name is not in their book, we will not be allowed in, as they are only taking appointments and to make an appointment, we need to revisit the office at 8am the next day to make an appointment for that very same day. This all happened before 1pm.

Now, I find this very disturbing as the offices only close at 3:30pm and as per your website, one does not need an appointment to visit any of the offices.

I am appalled at the lacklustre service received and the disdain in which your officials conduct their work. Something needs to be done about this and quickly, we cannot live in a country where officials do not take citizens to heart or seriously.

I urge you to make unannounced visits to these offices and to see how the lack of work ethic is being conducted.
