Dear Ms Khanyile,

With reference to the above mentioned. I have been trying since February of this year now to be exact to try and make an appointment on your system, system always says “no slots available”. How is this even possible for the past 6 months now.
You launch a system that is always offline the exact same as a walk-in centre, each and every teller is offline.

My brother (teenager) requires an ID for matric next year and my grandfather (pensioner) lost his ID so needs a replacement. Your ‘’online’’ system was supposed to make it easier for everyone and convenient but none of the above. It has been a complete nightmare trying to get an appointment. Let me not mention when I call in and your arrogant staff members with their shitty attitude telling me I need to try again, for 6 months I have been trying, how much longer??
We then decided to go to the nearest walk-in centre which is Mitchells Plain, and we were turned away as we need appointments and no one was willing to assist with making it on their end even though I explained and showed them that the system remans offline.

Customer service – Non existent
Online systems – Offline
Walk in office – offline

If this is your motto, then you have outdone yourselves once again. The most useless government entity to exist, it makes me wonder how one gets any kind of assistance from this department.

So, my question now is do I have to try another 6 months or will someone be so kind as to assist with making the appointments or should I resort to taking this to the news as I have had enough of the so called service, we as taxpayers get from our government entities not to mention our pensioners who in actual fact should be priority to all. Home Affairs is already in the public eye for it’s non-existent service and I’m sure I am not the only one experiencing this right now, or should I say for the past 6 months now.

Disgusted to say the least.
