Good morning,

I was attending a government clinic in Johannesburg last year and i was advised that i can give birth to any government hospital in SA, as long as i have my clinic card. It happened that i gave birth in Potchefstroom government hospital last year July, then i was called by debt collectors telling me that i owe the hospital R9000.00 for giving birth in a public. I called the hospital, the department of health within their district but no one is willing to tell me how is that possible, they said they regard me as a private patient because i come from a different province.

Please help me out as i can't afford to pay that amount.
