Dear Mr Steenhuizen.
All South Africans should be gravely concerned about this Gazprom deal. It must be remembered that Russia only helped the ANC with descriptive arms & munitions to fight
The apartheid regime. After our successful transition to democracy , there was no investment from Russian Government or any of it's corporate entities in our economy.

What loyalties does the ANC owe to Russia ? OR do they have to be obliged forever ?
While the USA & European countries supported us in various forms to get rid the apartheid regime. Huge investments flowed in from these countries that allowed SA grow economically.

Should the US & European countries & their corporates decide to divest from SA , our economy will be in the worst shambles than it is now. Yet President C.R and his cronies continue to antongise the USA & others. Think the AGOA deal & de - dollarising the rand. Pres.CR has the audacity to go to the G20 summit and ask American businesses to invest in SA. So what currency should they use , the Yuan or the Rouble ? Both the Russian & Chinese economies are in a serious dilemma , yet the ANC government wants to support these autocratic regimes. To whose detriment ?
Why is a Chinese company building the N2 toll road in the Eastern Cape when we have many capable SA companies that can do the job. Are they employing local or Chinese labour?

Normally as seen in the rest of Africa , they bring their own labour , citing language barriers as an excuse. Go to You-tube videos to check the Chinese tofu dreg construction work .You will be shocked to see how many buildings , bridges , roads and dams that are collapsing due cheap materials being used. Please , Mr Steenhuizen, could you inform other political parties and the SA public before SA is sold off to the Chinese & Russians.

Kind Regards
Basil Kissoon
