Dear Hon Sihle Lonzi,
Dear Chairperson Hon Ian Camron,
The Gauteng Traffic Wardens are calling upon for the Premiers’ urgent intervention concerning the following issues.
1. Employment contract.
2. Permanent employment.
3. Promised level 5 salary.
4. Working conditions.
5. Specified training period.
6. Danger allowance.
7. Overtime payment.
8. Night shift allowance.
9. Proper tools of trade.
10. Proper communication.
11. Training certificates.
Since the beginning of this initiative the Gauteng Traffic Wardens have been exposed to many challenges mainly the above mentioned issues, whereas Wardens tried to engage with the Premier and the Gauteng Department of Community Safety senior management and no action taken.
In most attempts to engage with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety, the Gauteng Traffic Wardens are being threatened and intimidated, which is long term tool that has been utilized so as to instill fear about our job security.
The Gauteng Traffic Wardens demand answers and also the Premiers’ respond within 14 days.
