Since the announcement of the date for the recent local government election there was never any campaigning among municipalities; unless if any such campaigning was secretive.

To my discontent I only received a call from one office-bearer at around 13:00 on election day enquiring if I had gone to vote; long after I had cast my vote at 10:00. Moreover at our voting station there were no party agents or a table with the party colors; as was the case with the ANC and EFF.

To me this is blatant gate-keeping which denies the DA any victory in any election; leaving all this to the ANC, despite its significant failures and dissatisfaction amongst the electorate nationally.
