Good morning

I work for the Chinese Company called FAW car vehicle manufacturing. This is an international fortune 500 company.

In this plant we manufacturing Trucks. This truck company is the number one truck selling company in South Africa if not in Africa.
They competing with the likes of MAN truck company, Mercedes-Benz trucks, Iveco etc.

On it's inception to South Africa this FAW company Wrongfully registered themselves under a wrong sector which is Mibco instead of AUTO sector. We took the case to CCMA and after years we won the case. The CCMA commissioner ruled in our favour and instructed the company to deregister themselves from mibco. The company is still paying us the workers the same pay rate, mibco rate!

We thought our lives will change for good.

The minimum entry pay rate in this truck industry is R90 per hour.
This Chinese company (FAW), is paying us R31 an hour.
We also haven't got an increase in 3 years. This is Exploitation!

They benefits on this market at the expense of us as cheap Labour. The government is aware of this but they keeping mumm about our situation.
We can't even afford a basic benefit like Medical Aid. Because we can't afford it with this pay rate.

We are on our 3rd week of industrial strike action. We fighting to have better pay rate which is R90 so we can afford some benefits like medical Aid and provident fund.

We really need a Government intervention to help us with slave labour situation.

Minister Patel please intervene

Kind regards
