I am a Johannesburg-based film and TV producer and an exco member of the Independent Producers Organisation of South Africa.

I'm writing to you with regards to the critical failures of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition's maladministration of the Film and TV rebate incentive scheme. To date, the DTIC have not had an adjudication meeting since February 2024, and this has been severely negatively impacting our industry.

The IPO ogranised a picket march outside the DTIC offices in February this year and as a result, the DTIC officails met with us, and yet, not actual change has taken place. The Film and TV incentive is still not functioning and our industry continues to slide into non-relevance on the world stage.

We need immediate and decisive action. Please can you help us.
