Why not add driving license to ID.
Only adding A, EC etc with Ophthalmic/ Ophthalmological report of visual conditions.
eg EA or EC with restrictions of refractive lenses etc.
So much simpler than having both ID /Driving licenses.
Eg : EC with refractive lenses.
Optometrists/ Ophthalmologists can give an affidavit iro vision.
Seems to me so much simpler. Was at home affairs last week iro passport( Paarl)- what a pleasure - was so simple and my compliments to the staff—adding driving licence 5 or 10 yearly just makes so much sense. Obviously the ID and driving license would have to be renewed concurrently.
