Dear Minister
Iam a parent whose son was doing Grade 12 last year (2024). On the 01/11/2024 my son was supposed to write his Maths Paper 1 Final exam.Sadly on his way to school, his transport was involved in an accident and he got injured.
In trying to assist,my managers called his school immediately to inform them about the incident. This was around 07:30

The boy was taken to hospital and attended to.The doctors ran all the necessary tests. He was then later released after receiving positive results that at least he was not that badly hurt.

The school was in constant contact with me checking up on him whilst he was being treated in the hospital. After his release I checked with the Principal as to whether were there any arrangements made him to write the paper at a later stage.I was told that there's no way he could write, he's missed the paper already. He could only re-write the following year (2025).
To cut a long story short even after I had contacted different offices I was given the same response, reason being "there's no paper in reserve for such incidents ", (something you have no control over) !

My son is still depressed and asks me questions that I do not have answers to ."Was it my fault that I got into an accident "? Did he bring this upon himself?...NO!

But here we are.How I wish that the policy be reviewed and revised.
Regards
