Dear Minister
My name is Margaret Ata, born and bread in Cape Town. In 1999, i applied for an RDP house which i was told in May 2020 that I did not receive the subsidy and therefore will not receive a house.
The reason for the disapproval if my subsidy is due to the fact that Home Affairs has not yet responded to my husband's application for a permanent resident permit, which he applied for in 2019. We have been married for 10 years this year and He has been in this country, from Ghana, for 14 years now.
I am very disappointed in our government because I must not forfeit a house, which I am entitled to as a S.A. citizen because our department officials are very slow in executing their duties and nothing is done about this poor service we are getting from government departments.
I need urgent intervention in this issue as this is not we as communities voted for. We voted our government to rule this country in order to correct the mess made by the opposition party and apartheid. It looks as if now, we are going to be like the Israelites who wanted to go back to Egypt after being released from slavery due to dissatisfaction and afflictions experienced in the desert. The ABC is failing us now, if we are going to lose what we are entitled because our spouses are non SA and the government does not provide them with citizenship or necessary documents.
Comrades, please helps us so that we can go to those polls with smiles on our faces like before or as we should be. This is our country and we take pride in it, therefore we deserve to be happy in it.
Together in the struggle.
Amandla
