I would like to know if the goverment will extend the claim period for the covid from the beginning when it started to companies that have been trying since may 2019 to get a ref no from ufiling and unable to claim covid funds. We have used our savings that we save every month for our staff bonuses and leave pay to pay the staff their full wages and thinking we would have been refunded by the time we get back after lockdown. I phone daily. I phone uif dept in c.t. even tried outside of c.t. but no answer. I have hung on for someone to answer on the covid line for 50 min just to be told they cant help me. We are a small business and have had to retrench 3 staff members and who knows if we will be open next year. I have worked for 43 years contributing to the uif and i have paid the emporer what is due to the emporer. I cannot tell you what a depressing situation we have currently. our staff ask us daily will we be coming back next year. and i answer them honestly. I dont know. Shame on this government for their incompetentcy and thriving corrupt officials whom have stolen the money of good hard working people. Would they have taken a pay cut to help out the uif funds. I doubt. I would like you to ask the president or minister of labour will they look into the possibility of geniune claims that have been overlooked or mismanaged. I hope you can get a possitive response and i will still in the meantime phone in every day with the hope of a competent person being able to help me. I must admit that if its true that the EFF have taken a pay cut during covid cudo;s to them. I wonder whom else did. I would appreciate a response from my representative in parliament and if would have done it myself if i was given the opportunity. warm regards
