We writing this letter because we are so frustrated and devastated as young qualified employees of the Department of Sport and Recreation in KZN. We have plus 10 years experience but we are still stuck in junior positions with no growth. The department has been practicing unfair labour practices . This posts were advertised and we were not shortlisted but people from outside who are ANC comrades were shortlisted and interviewed they are without qualifications and experience. The Acting HOD is doing as he pleases he sets his own panel and he sit in all the interviews so that he can facilitate the appointment of the comrades. We do not have any remedies to sort currently because even unions have failed us. We love our work and we qualified but we are not recognized. Currently there are people that the HOD made to act who do not have qualifications and experience. Other are old people who are employed in EPWP program who do not have qualifications and experience and young people with qualifications were left out because there were not comrades. The department is rotten to the core even the chief director and HR director can not.challenge the unfair labour practices because there are scared of the acting HOD and.the MEC. We really need help.many young people are sitting at home.with Sport Management Qualifications and people who are not.qualified are occupying positions.
