Dear minister Lamola.

Crime as you and rest of world know are out of hand. We all enjoy our human rights under new constitution, but it is truly time to start taking draconian steps agianst crime in a time where the economy performs poorly and unemployment is records high. It still does not mean that you can cimmit crime.

Here is my proposal:

1. Our jails are overfull. As corruption in state preventing more jails being build. Consider treaties with neighbouring countries, that when one of their citizens are found guilty of a crime in the RSA, he serves his jail time in country of origin e.g. Zimbabwe. This to be extended to current serving prisoners aswell. Yes conditions in neighbouring prisons are worse than the 5star treatment gets in our prisons, and human rights activists will fight against it and blah, blah, blah but it will serve as big deterent for immigrant criminals.

2. Start constructing correctional camps, lile old army bungalows for desperation crimes, where crime was committed because of poverty. These camps to be run jointly by correctional services and department of public works. Where convicted pitty criminals are then reskilled? And for term of service provide labour to DoPW to fix and maintain infrastructure, aftet which they then at end of term receives remuneration to build new life.

3. Theft, vandalism etc of public infrastructure should be declared acts of terrorism. Theft of critical infrastructure and possession there-off should as act of terrorism carry minimum sentence of life in prison. Kill demand. If scrap dealer found in possesion he is an accomplice in terrorism. Scrap and second hand dealing must provide ownership. If not have obtain police clearance certificate for items.

4. For crimes lile armed robbery, CIT, murder, rape, sexual assault, and abuse of women and children, drug dealing, drug muling, must become crime of no parole. These crimes must become guilty untill proven innocent. As you look at stats, you will see majority are convicted, and majority are repeat offenders. As serious crime also not concidered for parole. Serve full term of sentence as determined by judge.

Current system of justice and corrections are failing the people. Time for department to bring control and respect for the law. No fear for the law back.
