I would like to discuss the Law Reform Commission Discussion paper 147 on Project 125 and the then proposed amendments to the Prescription Act.
I believe South Africa, with its over-indebted society, requires a new regime to protect it from attorneys who operate call centers to collect debt via companies they own. There are quite a few of them operating from Sandown in Johannesburg.
I have written to the Legal Practice Council and the Public Protector, but I think, they are operating in a different time zone than 2023, as I don't expect a response before the election date.
