To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing today to complain of the poor services I received from the Embassy of The Republic of South Africa.

I am Djihad Islam Zaoui, born on 10th May 1994 in Maghnia, Algeria and currently live in El Hai El Gherbi, Bab El Assa, Algeria with Passport Number 197592371. I have applied for a Study Visa on 15th February2023 to study an English Language Program offered at the University of Johannesburg. I have submitted my application for the study visa on 15th of February, 2023 with all the required documents which the Embassy asked me for. As they had all the documents and had the interview with them, I have been waiting for 2 hours in the Embassy for no reason without talking about the bad treatment while the staff should be nice and gentle with the applicants.

I have waited for a month to get the result of my application, while the receptionist told me that it would take 10 to 15 days before the date you submit the application. I received the rejection on 20th, March 2023, I was shocked about the reason the Embassy told me. The reason was not even written on the rejection letter nor any other reasons. They said that the Facility is not listed on the University’s campuses. So I e-mailed the University by Mr.Malibongwe Masango ( mmasango@uj.ac.za ) who is the Administrative Officer, he said that it is a legal campus and the acceptance letter that you have is a legal document for the visa application.

I have applied for the visa appeal against the refusal on 28th, March 2023 by Email ( The receptionist told me to send the appeal by Email to Mr Messaouden – MessaoudenH@dicro.gov.za and Mr.Dinale DinaleM@dirco.gov.za ) with required and additional documents that I believe are strong documents for my visa study application. I have called and emailed the Embassy hundreds of times without responding. On 9th of May, 2023, The Embassy responded to me with another rejection without any reason about the refusal.

In conclusion, I would like to kindly ask you for the reconsideration and hope to hear a positive response from you as soon as possible.

Future replies will be published here.
