I am writing to you seeking for legal assistance as we are experiencing unjust conduct, biased and partial ruling from the Alexandra police station. my father has been arrested over 7 times since 2014 with the same allegations of malicious damage and intimidation which are not true and the cases are always cancelled or rather thrown out of court. This is an unjust act that we have tried to address with Alexandra police station leadership however we do not seem to be listened to or rather our complains are not taken seriously by no one

I have tried to assist my parents by reaching to Alexandra police station commander who referred us to Colonel Modise who in turn referred us to Captain Van Graan and Sergeant Nemaguvane. This was the week of the 22nd of June 2020 when my father and brother were arrested. since June 22nd to date we have not been helped at all. all we keep getting is postponement of arranged meeting to another. The last time we went for an update we were served with protection orders each for all members of my family from the same person with baseless allegations.

There was no clarification as to why are we served with the papers, also we seem not to get any help when we follow the law and seek for assistance from the police station. The young man who has been the complainant for all the cases against my family came one of the nights during lock-down and broke the window of my parent's house. we managed to stop him leaving the yard till the police arrived. He was taken to the police station the same night but shockingly my father was called in the same night to discuss the matter which was to lead to the man's release. the man was given numerous opportunities by the police to prove his innocence and escorted by police to get documents. I stepped in and objected against the act of the police because as far as my enlightenment the police are not suppose to conduct any trial and/or judgement. That is the responsibility of court. When I objected then they arrested but he never attended court. The biggest problem is that the last time my father was arrested I produced the high court ruling vedict from the previous case which the police said they are not interested but will arrest him and if we need to prove his innocence then we have to take the documents to Alexandra Magistrate Court where my father's innocence will be proved.

My problem is that why are we not treated the same as everyone. we have documents but they are meaningless before Alexandra police station

As we speak today the case of malicious damaged against this man has been cancelled and he walked free. We still have not replaced the window and left it as evidence for our case. Ultimately there's no justice for my family for the malicious damage and intimidation. We have requested for the case to be reopened. All we are getting is a promise that the case will be reopened but there's no action.

We are seeking assistance for all the baseless allegations to never be allowed to open case as they are unlawful and exert frustration and trauma that is unnecessary to the entire family.
