Dear Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi

My name is Karabo Koenaite, founder and director of a company called Hometown Glory Trading (Pty) Ltd. Im writing this email to raise a concern about one of your MOE (Johannesburg City Power).

I’m very disappointed in how officials are doing their day to day jobs, which raises a question whether are they qualified to be there in the first place?

In January 2018 I’ve applied for an Request for Quotation to supply concrete slabs which it was awarded to my company, after weeks the RFQ was approved one of the official called me and requested a meeting to tell me that the amount I quoted for was too high.

My question which I asked them is why did they approve the quotation if they saw that my price is to high and after two weeks?

Secondly the officials were very rude and telling me that I want to be rich with the City Power money, I didn’t appreciate the manner they talked to me cause they are the ones who approved the quotation and they are there to serve us as the public.

Lastly I was willing to negotiate my prices with City Power but they want me to negotiate at their terms which is something I’m not willing to do cause I’ve been appointed and I’ve got the official order.

Please assist with regards cause I’m aware that Supply Chain Processes were not followed and this clearly shows that people are not doing their job, and the department is threatening to cancel my contract cause I don’t want to reduce my prices.

Kind Regards
Karabo
