Honorable Minister,

Please consider making chronic medicine available on demand in pharmacies.

My 76 year old mother is a diabetic. Without her meds her sugar levels spirals out of control. Pharmacies have no mercy although mom is on social grant, everytime she needs to refill her script she has to consult a Doctor. She will be on these pills for a lifetime. The Doctors consultation is more than the tablets.

I find it dreadfully difficult to find a Doctor to do house calls.
My father that is near bed ridden at 78 also needs his chronic pain medication refilled every few month.

I don't believe we have government doctors that do house calls.
Please consider government delivery of any prescribe medication and chronic meds for a lifetime period.

I visited Taiwan some years ago and learned that the only time public went to a doctor was to get proper advise. All medication was available without prescription at the pharmacy.

Consider how you would feel if your wife, children and family have to consult a financial adviser before you can withdraw R500 form their bank accounts, at R600 advise fee!!

Kind regards,
