Good day Minister Matsie Angelina Motshekga
I trust you are well under these circumstances.
My daughter is in grade 9 and is a type 1 Diabetic.
My question today regarding the re-opening of schools is, What will happen to her and children like her when schools opens. I can already say there is no way that I can allow her to go back to school for the rest of the year while the corona virus is very much still active.
I do know children get mild symptoms yes, but in the case of a diabetic child or a child who has/had cancer or any other chronic condition, contracting this virus, could be fatal. A chance I am not willing to take. The problem I do have though is, will she and others like her who has an underlying conditions get some sort of assistance such as electronic devices such as laptops as they will have to study online? Cause she has been using my cellphone so far to get her homework done during lock down, which is not practical for especially essay work.
I know you will take ALL children in consideration when making these difficult decisions.
Kindest Regards
Rochelle
