Dear Mr. Jacobs,

My name is Coach Devin Lakey, founder of Lakey Sports Education Academy (L.S.E.A.), a remote-based sports and academic development business headquartered in Centurion, Gauteng. I am writing to humbly request your support and sponsorship to help us provide young South Africans from disadvantaged communities with equal access to elite-level sporting and academic opportunities — opportunities too often reserved for macro and private schools.

I was raised in Bredasdorp, a small town in the Western Cape, where talent often goes unseen. Despite being offered contracts and bursaries after attending Glenwood High School and playing semi-professional rugby, my playing career was cut short due to multiple concussions. Since then, I have dedicated my life to uplifting youth through sport and education — from coaching undefeated rugby teams at under-resourced schools to founding L.S.E.A. to build a high-performance platform for others.

The Challenge:
In South Africa, schools like Garsfontein, Waterkloof, and Pretoria Boys High dominate the sporting landscape, while learners from public and private schools in smaller or underdeveloped communities go unnoticed. These same macro schools often recruit top athletes from disadvantaged areas, stripping these communities of role models and recognition. Meanwhile, the schools they came from are left without hope or resources.

Our Solution:
L.S.E.A. is built on a simple but powerful mission: equal opportunity for all — regardless of where a child goes to school. We bring professional coaching and academic direction directly to underdeveloped schools at zero cost to the institutions. All we ask in return is the opportunity to extend our program to more schools in similar communities.

Through partnerships with campuses in Pretoria, Midrand, and Sandton, we aim to turn underdeveloped schools into feeder schools for Varsity Shield programs, creating tangible pathways to bursaries and professional sport. Our academic support program ensures that each learner also has a structured career vision and study support, making university access realistic — even for those who cannot afford school fees at elite institutions.

Expansion Plans:
We are currently expanding from one school to four, with momentum building rapidly. With your support, we can reach even more young people and broaden our impact. Our vision is to expand into Cape Town, the Boland, Port Elizabeth, the Free State, and the Northern Cape — reaching forgotten schools and transforming communities through recognition, mentorship, and long-term development. We aim to grow this program into all communities where growth and exposure are needed most.

What We’ve Achieved So Far:

Rugby teams at VTH High School reaching second round quarter-finals

Rejection of macro-school offers to remain focused on under-resourced talent

Partnerships with sports nutrition and video portfolio providers

Academic support, tutoring, and bursary planning for learners

What We’re Asking:
We are seeking sponsorship to help fund the following essential components:

Clothing and kits for rugby, soccer, netball, and athletics (including tracksuits and uniforms)

Equipment for all major sporting codes we support

Transport for coaches to schools across provinces

Logistics and operational support for training camps (3 per year) over the next two years

These first two years are crucial for laying sustainable roots and positioning L.S.E.A. as a credible and community-focused platform — one that creates real opportunities where they are most needed.

Closing:
With your support, we can provide many more children with a platform to grow, be seen, and believe in their future. We would deeply appreciate the opportunity to present our full plan and discuss how we can work together to empower the youth of South Africa through sport and education.

We would appreciate a meeting with you if you would provide us with an opportunity

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Warm regards,
Coach Devin Lakey
