Dear Sir,
According to the minutes the AG has extended power to penalise auditees who do not follow their recommendation. In 2018 ,I tried obtaining Management Reports which the AG (Mr Jan Van Schalwyk Corp Exec in the office of the AG)said it cannot release and notified it lawyers I was approaching parliament for relief and requesting such。
Please tell me how do we now know which recommendations are being extended to increase the AG power to penalise as legislation has changed since my request?
Further, there is not a single auditee who will pay any attention to a public request for scrutinising their repeat findings, unless it is a contracted audit firm or the AG themselves.
Where does a member of the public find out what is going on with this?
Finally,if any person is in a position to aide a public organisation with a persistent problem such as repeat findings ,whilst the authorities and so forth may be obliged to mitigate personal risk-it is mandatory for parliament to consider such even where gain/compensation or other may be involved for such person making a proposal.
The inhibitions posed by the AG and ,auditees on accessing repeat findings does not only violate free and fair access to information that should be public knowledge,it prevents anybody other than AG or existing audit firms from whom such services are already being procured to participate other than as a bystander .
