Dear Sir,
I would like to report an incident that did not go down well with me. It appeared to be an official wanting to create a Racial incident.
On 27 May 2025 I was returning into South Africa from Mozambique at about 14:30. All went well on the Mozambique side and with the South African Passport control. As I was exiting the gate this certain official Mr Chaukwe asked me for the Boat COF. I thought he wanted the Boat Trailer papers so I produced them. He then was adamant that he wanted the SAMSA annual boat COF. As I am a certified SAMSA Safety Officer I asked hin What a SAMSA Document has to do with the BMA. He stated it has as the agency controls all entry whether by sea land or air. One of his colleagues asked him why he is requesting this document as she had never heard of this before. I found the Document which I showed him and he had no Idea of what it was about. Looked at the Buoyancy Certificate expiry Date instead of the COF expiry date. I feel this was either to try to get a bribe or cause racial conflict. Incidentally the SAPS personnel distanced themselves from him while this was going on as did some of his colleagues.

Future replies will be published here.
