Dear Minister,i am one of the South African who joined the Agricultural Sector When you were still the Minister of Agriculture (2000). I am a researcher in the field of agricultural engineering for a period of 19 years and have served the people of my country in all the nine provinces, training farmers on agricultural mechanization, agro-processing ,irrigation etc.I work with white engineers ,engineers from foreign nations. The challenge that the local researchers are facing is that the foreign researchers and local white researchers are given key positions and united against our local researchers. When local researchers try to raise the challenges we are facing, is either you are going to be told that you are racist or xenophobic. Our young engineers are not given the necessary support to grow so that they can move from being candidate engineers to professional engineers. When one ask why appointing foreign agricultural engineers, they claim that is a SCARES SKILL. There are lots of our local agricultural engineers who graduated from UKZN yearly and unemployed. The pain that I am bearing is to serve 19(yrs) at same entry salary level because I know and talk too much. Most white engineers are old and foreign engineers will be going home with time and the question remains what is going to happen to us as a nation when we don't empower own young stars. The land issue needs engineers for us to can be able to work the land, Hence the request for our leaders to support us to deal with the lots and lots of RED TAPPES that we are exposed to. Thank you Honorable Minister,
