Dear Mr Steenhuizen and co.

I'm hoping this email finds you all well.

I'm writing this letter in hope that it is read with the urgency it deserves. I also apologize for bringing these matters to your attention as i know the DA has a lot more pressing matters to attend to.

We have been fighting for years to have the DA lead our municipality and we were over joyed when the DA was appointed, but i have to express our unhappiness in the state of our roads in and around Benoni. Our committee has been reporting Auret Road in Nortons Home Estate for months and nothing is being done to repair the road. The state of this +/- 500m road has become undrivable as one side of the road has small craters for potholes, that cars are treating this two way as a one-way road.

Residents trying to fill these potholes so we are able to get to and from our homes. At night or when it rains, the potholes are submerged and hard to see, and this becomes extremely dangerous for motorists and motorbikes. We've had to place a road boom/barrier to protect cars from going into a really deep hole.

Venus road in Atlasville was recently retarred, the entire road for a few small pot holes yet Auret road for over two years has had a few small touch ups after rain, but nothing repaired for months, it's almost as we are being neglected. I am a Trustee and In the complex i am a Trustee on, we have 100 units alone, 100 people minimum that travel this road on a daily basis and nothing is being done.

We have a telegram group, ward 23 where residents have been submitting complaints on the COE app and again, no repairs to our road for months. We are kindly asking, begging for this road to have the attention it needs for repairs as we are experiencing damage to our cars, tire repairs. Friends and family do not want to visit us due to the state of the road.

Thank you for everyone's time, really hoping this email isn't brushed under the table and some one has the heart to help your supporters and have this road fixed...please 🙁

Regards,
Justin
