Dear Honorable Minister,

I write as a concerned South African and implore that the NCCC reconsider the decision to allow licensed establishments to trade alcohol over the weekend.

Visit any of these establishments where alcohol is sold and you will see a number of cars surrounding same; more especially in the township / rural areas.

This promotes social gathering and worse; drinking and driving which according to the Road Traffic Management Corporations amounts to 27.1% of fatalities.
