Dear John Henry Steenheuisen

Speaking as a South African citizen who resides at 10 Toledo Park, Shastri Park, Phoenix. My name is Vanessa Chetty. I'm a 47 year old disabled female who has been voting for the D.A. since 1994. I haven't seen any changes for disabled people.
I have read the parties plans for 2024 and how they plan to get the land back and water, electricity and unemployment etc... I do agree all that is important to improve our country's growth and stabilise and build the economy.
As an individual and on behalf of all physically disabled people I have an issue to raise. Since South Africa as become a democratic country What has it done for people with disabilities.?
I have never seen the D.A. come to us and ask us what we need? Are we not human don't we have right to a life! To live and earn like able bodied people! Alot of new parties are coming around during this time campaigning to vote for them. One such party is the A.R.A. but I lost trust and faith in any party.
The government made a law over 40 years don't get jobs or learnerships. I know a lot of physically disabled people that still want to work and achieve something in our lives.
Why doesn't one of the D.A. councillors take the time to speak to and find out what we require as South African citizens don't we have a right to our voice and our say in this country.
We have physical disabilities but we can work, talk and do alot. Cost of living is so high these days our grants are not enough to live on.
We want to be financially independent and show people that it doesn't mean you over the age you can't work. Also that you have a disability you can achieve something. We can achieve alot. Give us a chance to show our capabilities and abilities.
Mr. John Steenheuisen I have sent this very letter to three of your councillors in my area on the 02nd of April 2024. Maggie Johnson my ward councillor never opened it or read it. Lyndal Singh also I sent it to she never read either. I sent it to Bradley Singh he read it but I never got a response to date. So now I'm trying every avenue I can.
I hope my letter reaches you Mr. John Henry Steenheuisen. I have one request for the Democratic Alliance if you value my vote. What are yourl gonna do to help us people with disabilities.
Mr John Henry Steenheuisen I also sent your an email. I hope it reaches you and you read and respond.

Awaiting your urgent response
Kind regards
Miss Vanessa Chetty
