It is important that the youth know about mental illness in order to identify if they themselves or anyone they know may be suffering from them. I believe that mental health education should be incorporated into the current Life Orientation syllabus at senior primary to highschool levels as I feel like we need to focus them on real life issues and problems, this is how we can mold a more understanding and aware society that advocates the importance of mental health and the correct treatment of mental illness sufferers.
