Good Day Ma'am
I write this in place of my younger brother,a bright eyed academic pupil with a narrow minded view. Of the whole of the family,he is expected to be the best of us, he passed matric with a beautiful average of 70% and has been accepted by higher institutions, the only problem is - funding. Coming from an underprivileged family (like most South African children) he never had reliable internet access and struggled with transport to application centers so he missed the deadline although he was intensily focused on school as well, his hopes for a better future are in the gray without funding,he's lost, crying and intensity stressed. That's why I ask, from the bottom of my heart, that you please extend the NSFAS Application period even for a week for varsities. Think of my brother as the symbol of the many matric students who broke the ceiling in pass rate but a high majority of them, very deserving, will be left home due to funding constraints Even with those great marks. In South Africa, education is the only key we underprivileged kids have to make a difference,we dream and have hopes that are realized through the higher educational system and we only get there through the hands of NSFAS. I appreciate your work genuinely, but I ask, from one black child to another, please. Thank you.
