As the Constituency Secretary of the ActionSA Youth Forum in Mamelodi, I want to sincerely commend the ActionSA parliamentary team for the impressive work they continue to do in holding the executive accountable. Your fearless and disciplined approach in Parliament is inspiring to young leaders like myself and many others in our communities.

It was particularly powerful to see how the persistent advocacy of ActionSA MPs is beginning to shape the national agenda. In the State of the Nation Address, the President was forced to echo several issues that ActionSA has consistently raised in Parliament — including stronger action against illicit trade, tighter immigration control and border management, and urgent responses to threats facing our agricultural sector such as foot-and-mouth disease. These are issues ActionSA has repeatedly pushed for government to confront with seriousness and urgency.

These were not accidental mentions; they reflect the growing impact of sustained pressure and principled leadership from ActionSA in Parliament. When ActionSA MPs confronted the President and demanded accountability, they ensured that the real challenges facing South Africans could not be ignored.

This demonstrates that strong, constructive opposition can influence national priorities and force government to respond to the needs of the people. As young leaders in Mamelodi, we are proud to stand behind a team that continues to fight for accountability, capable governance, and a better future for all South Africans.
