Dear Dr. Leon Schreiber,
I urgently seek your assistance in escalating my daughter's first-time ID application to both yourself and Mr. Adrian Roos, Shadow Minister of Home Affairs, to ensure that it is processed without further delay.
As key leaders overseeing the Department of Home Affairs, you should be made aware of the inefficiencies within the system—particularly in light of the government's vision to automate home affairs applications and deliver documents directly to citizens. A five-month delay for a simple ID application is entirely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about both the current process and any future automation initiatives.
I understand that my repeated follow-ups and repetitive Emails to 'Carli VanWyk' may be frustrating, but I urge you to recognize the urgency of this matter. In South Africa, an identity document is not just necessary for basic services like opening a bank account; it is also essential for my daughter to register and sit for her Matric senior certificate next year. Without it, she will be unable to write her exams, which is simply not an option.
I implore you to treat this issue with the urgency it deserves and escalate it immediately so that a resolution can be reached as soon as possible.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
