I have tried no less than 7 times to apply for an ID book. I was given permanent residency in 1981 and one year later applied for the first time!!! I am not going to bore you with the details. Each new minister advises me that my application was lost and that I should reapply i did this again last year and it has got as far as your marriages department it seems after holding on for 5 hours!!!!!! that i have an ID number but have not been advised as it is in my divorced name and is being cleared for my new name (new as in married for 30 years) it has been in that department for 6 months, all the correct paperwork was submitted. I was 32 when arrived here and am now just about to turn 70, what must i do?
