Good day. As we all know, Covid-19 affected the academic year of 2020 and our major concern were the matriculants as they still had to complete their syllabus and write their final exams. This was not the same for the other grades but I'm specifically going to talk about the grade 11s of last year who will be matriculating this year.

They didn't complete their grade 11 syllabus and they did not write the exams set by the government but the school. We all understand why, however I would love to say that the report marks they obtained for their final grade 11 exams is not a true reflection of their academic capability. Some schools could have been too lenient when setting their papers, and maybe some were too harsh.

Therefore I definitely think they should not apply to the Universities using their grade 11 marks but instead using their grade 12 term one marks or they could use their grade 12 June exam results.
