Dear Leon Amos Schreiber
I came to SA from Zimbabwe in 2007 after being issued with a scarce skills permit that does not have an exit date by the DHA. The DHA then gave me a letter of compliance in 2010 to confirm that my permit remained valid if I remained employed as a Math and Science teacher and that they couldn't change the condition on the permit. However a year later, the same official issued me a noncompliance letter without a reason. This has caused me untold suffering for many years. I have tried a lot of avenues to get a permit without success. Not only am I no longer employed, my two children can't go into any university in SA in spite of their good results. I applied for study permits for them 13 years ago and they have not been issued. I have done a tonne other things to get myself and them permits but to no avail. The issues are multiple and complex. I need help minister. If Home Affairs cannot issue us with some, at least allow us a dignified exit from SA without labelling us illegal because we did not cause this problem.
